The Actress is a witty and touching backstage comedy about fame, family, and farewell. Set in a dressing room on the night of a star’s final performance, it offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the emotional chaos of saying goodbye to the spotlight.
I want to capture both the sharp humour and quiet heartbreak of the play. The setting will reflect the glamour and pressure of theatre life, with fast-paced entrances and moments of deep reflection. At its heart, this is a celebration of performance—and the woman behind the performer.
This production will be a love letter to the stage, balancing comedy with poignancy as Lydia Martin takes her final bow.
